The demand for an accurate, and reliable BTU Energy meter was created with sharp rise in energy costs, along with a desire to conserve and become more energy efficient. As a result the Energy industry, end users, and engineers alike, have become focused on improving the overall accuracy for online energy/BTU measurement.
As a component of an Energy measurement system, the flow meter has been the greatest single contributor to overall loss in system accuracy. Traditional Energy/BTU measurement systems offer the use of mechanical or differential flow elements, such as turbine, variable orifice, pitot tube, orifice plates, etc., which by their technological nature, have relatively poor accuracies, marginal repeatability, require re-calibration, and offer very limited turn down or rangeability.
With Cadillac®’s HEATX BTU Energy measurement system, the concern for accurate and reliable flow measurement has been eliminated. By implementing the CMAG, with its unmatched flow capabilities, the flow accuracies are increased by 100% to 400%. At these accuracies the CMAG also provides unparalleled turndown capability with a published turn down of 500:1. Combined with state of the art electronics and precision temperature and pressure elements, Cadillac® now offers the most accurate, repeatable, and reliable BTU energy measurement system available.
Central Station Steam offers three options for BTU Energy Measurement all employing the proven non-mechanical, non-differential producing flow meters.
